VICTOR,
We as suppliers, can become "BUYERS" at no charge.
This will allow us "suppliers" to view other "suppliers" LIKE "SHOWCASE SUPPLIERS" on MFG.com's Home page to ask them
if they are getting work from MFG.com

Just came across this place today.

I just wanted to share our experience with MFG. We've been members on and off for about 7 years. We did the one year on, one year off thing acouple of times, and now have been a member three years straight. Overall, we've been dissapointed with the service for mostly the same reasons that have been listed already. But.....we have picked up three very good customers over the years. These are companies that listed RFQ's, picked up a couple of good vendors and have not been back. This is the sole reason we still pay- It may happen again. As far as their sales pitches, thay are all BS, and if you go into it thinking work is going to roll in, well, it won't.

Even though we are dissapointed in 99.9% of what goes on there, the couple of gold veins we managed to find have been more than outstanding. We are up for renewal soon, and we may not continue, as we haven't been succesful in over TWO YEARS with any quotes. Very mixed on our end, but if we rolled the clock back, we'd do it again.

We signed up on mfg Nov of 2008. We asked around other shops we knew who had done it and they told us not to do it. For some reason we thought we could be successfull. We are a 5 man cnc production shop with new cnc equ. We won our first job the first month we was on mfg. Then we won our next job in Feb of 2009 but that has been our last.... We have quoted daily with no luck. We will not relist , I see the sight as a waste of time and $$$$$..... Luckly the first customer we had we keep for 6 months to get our $$$$ we spent on mfg back. This customer was very hard to work with, so we had to stop business with them. I don't like the fact that you are quoting against all the 3 rd world countries on there who don't have the same cost we have in the USA, makes it impossible. The customers using mfg are killing what little machining is left in this country. I have tried to contact mfg and get no responce from them. I guess they got what they wanted the CASH!!!!!!! Maybe CHINA we keep them in business I will not. http://www.ionlybuyamerican.com

Re: Scamed by mfg.com? - SOLUTION

Postby Victor » Tue Nov 24, 2009 3:21 pm

Hi All,
It is quiet in here lately...

I want to let you all know that for the past several months I have been working on the SOLUTION.

The solution is trying to solve some of the problems that we all encountered when dealing with profit-centered companies like mfg.com
Here is a list of problems we all have with those type of companies:
1. Cost - high up front cost and locked in an annual contract without the possibility to cancel. Cost not related to the results = scam (for ex: paid $6,000, got $0.0 in jobs)
2. Unfair foreign competition
3. Lack of transparency and information - they don't have a forum where the customers can freely exchange point of views about the services they receive or about other practices.
4. Buyers - it looks like the majority of buyers at these companies are either fake or people trying to get free quotes. Buyers don't have to pay for being there and they don't have any vested interest.

Feel free to add to the list if you see something I missed.

I will post more information in about a week - stay tuned.
Victor

Hello Victor,
Can't believe there have not been more posts from dissatisfied MFG suckers.I can't imagine there have been
customers of MFG.com that have been satisfied with their investment.I've been tough on MFG.com
There maybe some shops are quoting RIDICULOUS low prices. (but how ? some quotes don't cover material !)
Are these stupid shops or is MFG.com fabricating jobs being awarded at ridiculous low price(even in US)
VICTOR,,
Have you tried to contact suppliers that have received orders from MFG.com at low price ?
I'm willing to help you to contact them.
Thanks
Javier
